| description:the Third-Half Passport Collection is a compilation of 6 passports, scanned from cover to cover, installed in a grid format and belonging to 3 generations of Palestinians. The collection is a portrait of the Barakeh family’s passage in the midst of war and political turmoil in the Middle East from 1943 till the present. It contextualizes the politics of the region through a series of official stamps, visas, marks, dates and signatures of the controlling authorities. To this historical archive, Zeina Barakeh added a self-created passport, which condenses the various political divisions of that period. The purpose of this addition is to visit a conceptual space of possibility, the Third-Half, which emerges out of the necessity for survival during conflict. | ||||||
